My first wedding in Cornwall and also my first intimate beach wedding. Some weddings are grand, and others are simply grand in feeling—and Nadine and Myk’s day was exactly that. Just the two of them, their three children and a ceremony filled with laughter.
Set against the sweeping views of the Cornish coast, Nadine and Myk tied the knot at the stunning Carbis Bay Hotel & Estate. Known for its golden sand beaches and clear turquoise waters, Carbis Bay is a place that feels like a secret corner of paradise. And for this special day, it was the perfect setting.
I’ve known Nadine for years—eight, to be exact. We first crossed paths at Enfield Golf Club, where she was the events manager and I had the pleasure of photographing a number of weddings. Seeing her now as a bride, was a full-circle moment that made the day all the more meaningful for me.
Their wedding was intentionally small—just the five of them. No crowd, no rush. Just love, laughter, and the sound of waves rolling in. The couple’s three children stood beside them as both guests and witnesses, which added a layer of closeness and authenticity that you don’t often get to see in larger celebrations.
The ceremony, led beautifully by Sara Price Celebrant, was personal and heartfelt. It started with a light rain—just a gentle drizzle—but as if on cue, the clouds parted and the sun broke through. It was one of those quiet, cinematic moments that felt like nature itself was giving its blessing.
Nadine looked absolutely radiant. Myk stood proudly beside her, and the connection between them was full of life. The kids were clearly thrilled to be such an integral part of their parents’ love story.
After the ceremony, we strolled down the beach, capturing moments that felt more like memories unfolding in real time than photos. Barefoot in the sand and sea, hair tousled by the sea breeze—it was the kind of wedding that reminded me exactly why I do what I do.
There’s something incredibly special about a wedding stripped down to its core elements: two people, a promise, and the ones who matter most. Nadine and Myk’s day was all that, and so much more.
Congratulations, you two. Thank you for letting me be part of your beautiful beginning.
