So any of you who have followed me over the years (and stuck around) will know that I’ve recently come back from an amazing holiday in Las Vegas. And of course, being a wedding photographer, I just had to go and check out the wedding chapels so that I can tell you all about them!
First thing that you need to know about “most” of the chapels in Vegas is that they’re not on the main strip with the big hotels. Short history lesson…..the famous casino side of Las Vegas started it what is now Downtown Las Vegas. As the strip got more popular, it expanded to what is now the popular end of Las Vegas Boulevard. But the chapels were constructed when the strip was fist built, so most of the famous wedding chapels that you’ve heard of are actually in Downtown Las Vegas, not on the main strip. Although a lot of the hotels have their own chapels too!
Vegas has on average 300 weddings a day. A DAY! Let that sink in. Crazy right! So obviously there needs to be a lot of wedding chapels to accommodate them all. Here are some of the Las Vegas wedding chapels that I personally love!
Little Church of the West Wedding Chapel
This was the chapel that was nearest our hotel. Most of the chapels in Vegas are white, so I was excited to see this one! Best thing about this chapel is it’s only a very short walk down the road from the famous Welcome to Las Vegas sign!! Perfect for photos. This chapel has plenty of parking, a gorgeous outdoor ceremony space as well as the indoor chapel and it’s just off the strip of is you’re staying in one of the big hotels, it’s not a long journey to get here.
Thunderbird Wedding Chapel
Not the most glamour of chapels from the outside, but this chapel is like the Tardis. So big on the inside! It’s actually a hotel so you and your guests will have a place to stay. It has several rooms for couples to choose from and can hold up to 150 people! It also has a banquet hall so it’s not just a ceremony venue but you can have a reception here too!
Vegas Weddings
One Vegas chapel to 100% consider for your wedding. Vegas Wedding Wedding Chapel will have you spoilt for choice on where to have your ceremony. Right in the heart of Downtown Vegas, it’s just a stones throw away from the AMAZING Fremont Street. Not only that, but you can have your own drive through wedding here! Yes, you heard me correctly. You won’t even have to get out of your car to tie the knot here!
A Little White Chapel
Probably the most famous wedding chapel in the world thanks to Frank Sinatra, Bruce Willis and of course, Britney Spears! A Little White Chapel is by far Vegas’ most popular chapel to get hitched. Here you’ll have your choice of the two indoor chapels, their outdoor gazebo or their world famous Tunnel of Love. Surprisingly, even though this is probably the most famous place to get married in Vegas, it’s easy on the wallet! 100% worth checking this one out!
