Being a bridesmaid is so much more than wearing a dress and having your 15 seconds walking down an aisle. Your friend has picked you because she trusts you and wants you there with her every step of the way on her biggest day. Here’s some helpful tips that every bridesmaid should know to help you be your best bridesmaid self on your besties wedding day.
Keep Her Calm
No matter what is happening, keep that positive attitude going. The bride could be stressing that her flowers haven’t arrive yet, or that there’s a crease in her veil. Perhaps she’s just been told that two more guests aren’t coming. It’s your job to keep her positive and keep that good mood going. Be there to help with a problem. Lend a hand like helping the photographer gather family for the group shots, or getting everyone inside sat down for the meal.

Be The Keeper of Time
Couples don’t realise how quickly their wedding day flies by. So much so that they can be completely unaware that it’s time to move onto the next thing of the day. Do your best to help her navigate her timings. If the next thing of the day isn’t far away, give her a heads up how much time she’s got until she’s needed.

Emergency Go To
Plasters, lip gloss, snacks, eye lash glue, indigestion tablets and everything else but the kitchen sink, have it on hand. You never know what emergencies can happen at a wedding so make sure you’re ready to keep everything running smoothly!

Unofficial Photographer
Now, this is 100% not me saying tread on the photographers toes and get every shot they’re getting. No. But do get the behind the scenes shots of anything and everything. Guests can sometimes capture the shots that the photographer wasn’t around for (maybe we’ve already packed up for the day, or maybe it’s the crack of dawn before we’ve even got there). There’s something special about behind the scenes photos, which are even more special when it’s a friend who’s captured them.
TOP TIP: try and capture some on the brides phone. That way she’ll have some lovely surprises when going through her photos the morning after.

Be The Energy!
Yes Bridesmaids, this one’s all on you. The Bride will be somewhat stressed or in her own head the morning of the wedding. The best way to combat this, make an epic getting ready playlist! Become your friends personal DJ and hype girl!

Personal Stylist
Fluff that skirt, loop that button, tighten the corset, fix the veil. There’s a big chance the bride won’t be able to do this theirselves so you need to step in and make sure she is picture perfect! And also, make sure the dresses have been steamed the night before.
TOP TIP: make sure you wash your hands before touching the dress.
