As a Hertfordshire based photographer, I’ve had my fair share of weddings in the area. So here’s my list of my top five venues that I personally love to work at and that my couples love even more to get married at!
Milling Barn
I’m going to start off with one of my favourites! A venue that I’ve had the pleasure of working at many times before, and hopefully even more in the future! Milling Barn has a vast outdoor picturesque scenery, perfect for capturing those just married photos! Staff are so in sync. (Pretty sure they’re telepathic). Can have ceremony in the barn or in the venue room. Food will never disappoint! Venue exclusivity. Can get ready onsite and stay night of.
Tewinbury Farm
Tucked away in the heart of Hertfordshire. This venue offers venue exclusivity for the happy couple and their guests in the barn where the couple and wedding party can stay the night before the wedding, and then also their guests the night of the wedding. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Option for indoor or outdoor ceremony. If you’re lucky and they feel like being social on the day, you might get the chance to see the alpacas in one of the farms many fields!! Plenty of areas for photos outside, can be a bit restricted for private photo areas if outside is a no go.
The Barn at Alswick
A venue that is known for its beautiful garden in the Spring/ Summer. You are able to get ready at the venue the morning of your wedding is the lovely bridal suite, and you and your guests can stay the night in their amazing glamping tents. With venue exclusivity and plenty of places to explore, this is the perfect venue for couples looking for a secluded slice of floral heaven!
Shenley Cricket Club
AH-MAZING marquee! If you’re having a big wedding, this venue is for you. With venue exclusivity and the option for outdoor or indoor ceremony, this venue can cater to both big or small weddings. The reception marquee is separate from the main building so there’s no delay with room set up. With a beautiful field just the other side of the venue, it’s the perfect spot to get those golden hour portraits!
Manor of Groves
One of Hertfordshire’s many golf club venues, Manor of Groves has the option to stay night before and night of wedding, with plenty of rooms for your guests. The grounds at the hotel are HUGE so there’s plenty of places to go for photos. (I’ve been here many times and I still don’t think I’ve managed to discover every photo op area!) This venue offers lots of package options to suit every budget and wedding size.
I hope that I’ve been able to give you some help with each of these venues and hopefully it’s helped you narrow down your choices a bit more!
